Jeffrey has been working in China for over 15 years, of which about
5 years were in Shanghai. The theme of the gathering was "Sustainability
of the Nanyang family through networking"
There were 16 Nantah personnel who were mainly Science and Humanities graduates,
and a complement of 4 Nanyang CEE Alumni members who joined the group to learn
from, and interact with, experienced Nantah entrepreneurs and technocrats.
The lively gathering was preceded by an expression of warm welcome and a short
introductory talk by Mr Jeffrey Lau.
Stories and jokes abound whenever there is a fusion of "old" and "new" members
of the Nanyang family. In addition, all the local favourites of South
East Asian cuisine made the occasion even more memorable.
The menu included satay, prawn samosa, Hainanese chicken, bakuteh, roasted
silver pomfret, curry lamb, roti prata, fresh clams with garlic and chilli
sauce, beef rending, belachan kang kong, nasi goreng nanas, red bean with shaved
ice, gado-gado and free flow of soft drinks and beer. One would think that
they were in Singapore!
The next gathering promises more surprises and the date will be announced soon.
