On Friday, 5 January 2007, the School of CEE and NTU CEE Alumni Association (NCEEA) kick off the first alumni networking Chill-Out for the year 2007.

Some 80 CEE alumni and faculty members mingled and reminisced in a cosy-homelike-sofa setting of Upstairs @ Harry's Bar in Boat Quay.

The Chill-Out saw a good mix of alumni - from the Class of '85 to the Class of '06. Enclaves of different Classes gradually intermingled as the night advanced in a free-and-easy atmosphere. The younger alumni were exchanging notes on their experience on working life, while senior alumni were reminiscing the good old student days in NTU. There were a lot of catching up among the alumni as some had not met each other for some time since they graduated.

Prof. TC Pan, Dean of COE and Chair of CEE, Prof. TS Lok, Dean of Students, and fellow faculty members of CEE were also having an enjoying time with their former students. The NCEEA committee members were also mingling with their CEE Alumni members and encouraging them to play an active role in fostering fellowship among themselves and take the opportunity to enlarge their network circle at such chill-out session.

Everyone agreed that Chill-Out sessions should be organised on a regular basis and were looking forward to the next one. With good food and drinks, all of them enjoyed the evening very much and they bring away with them the fond memory of a good evening outing with fellow CEE Alumni and faculty members.

Mr. Soon Min Yam, Director of Alumni Affairs Office, an invited guest of the Chill-Out, did not go home empty-handed either. He had successfully recruited new Class Agents to assist in getting everyone together for more CEE Alumni activities. Watch out for the next CEE Alumni chill-out!
